چکیده

The possible enhancement of the output from a partially shaded PV array by the use of AC modules has been determined for the PV facade at the University of Northumbria. The system currently has an annual shading loss of about 25% and the study has shown that the use of AC modules would increase the output by approximately 8%. The calculation method is described, and the implications for the design of partially shaded BIPV systems discussed. The effect of soiling, due to atmospheric pollution, on the output of the array and the economics of BIPV systems in Australia and the UK will also be discussed.

Analysis of spatial fixed PV arrays configurations to maximize energy harvesting in BIPV applications

−This paper presents a new approach for efficient utilization of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) systems under partial shading conditions in urban areas. The aim of this study is to find out the best electrical configuration by analyzing annual energy generation of the same BIPV system, in terms of nominal power, without changing physical locations of the PV modules in the PV arrays. Fo...

Economics of Building Integrated PV In China

This paper presents a technical and economic analysis of building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) applications for commercial buildings in Shanghai and Beijing China. The analysis assumes that the array area is 105 m (equivalent to 6.3 kWp for amorphous silicon thin film technology and 10.0 kWp for polycrystalline technology). Rooftop and curtain wall applications are considered. BIPV is analyze...
